Shawn Griner spent a decade working in hotel operations before transitioning to travel writing in 2018. That hands-on experience gives him unique insight into both the guest experience and the business metrics that drive the industry. Shawn is an expert on cruises (PortMiami is the world's busiest cruise port), the Florida Keys, and South Florida's evolving luxury hotel landscape. When he's not reviewing a new property or covering a cruise line announcement, Shawn explores the Keys by boat, scuba dives the reefs, and collects vintage travel posters. He lives in Aventura and believes South Florida is one of the world's great destinations — and he's determined to cover it like one.
